IMAGES of St. Paul's in the 21st Century:
Celebrating the 300th Anniversary of Wren's Architectural Masterpiece through Contemporary Art
In the first exhibition of its kind at St. Paul’s in London, sixty-four artists have produced original works especially for “IMAGES of St. Paul’s in the 21st Century,” a major cultural event celebrating the 300th anniversary of the completion of Sir Christopher Wren's great enterprise.
Although the exhibition did not officially open in London until September 20th, when the Lord Mayor presided at a high-profile ceremony, art lovers in the New York area had an exclusive opportunity to preview the newly created works electronically at a private event sponsored by the St. Paul's Cathedral Trust in America.
In addtition to the virtual exhibit, two of the participating artists were present in person: English artist Simon Harling, whose work "Reflected Light: St. Paul's Triptcyh" (see above) was unveiled and acquired at auction, and Maeve Dewar from South Africa, who brought three new works for display in advance of their showing in London.
